The principal objective of the Legal Department is to provide advice and counsel on legal issues of concern to the DTCM. One of its functions is the drafting of administrative laws; rules and procedures to best serve the DTCM.
It is vested with the responsibilities of drafting legislation for the tourism industry, which is within the control of the DTCM; Adjudication of disputes relating to licensing and classification of hotel establishments, tourism companies and other tourism-related activities is also handled by the legal department.
The Legal department also reviews and advises on all the purchasing contracts and other agreements for the DTCM.
