The 9th Ramadan Forum organised by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) organised several visits to the hospitals for one week for Dr. Butti Al Marri, Chairman of scholars committee at the forum, and scholar Ali Al Yaseen to Rashid hospital and other hospitals in Dubai. This activity is a part of the humanitarian and charity visits conducted by the Forum this Ramadan.                                 

Dr. Butti said the campaign continues for one week during the forum to support the patients, providing them hope and eliminate their pain during the holy month. This humanitarian deed is described by doctors the perfect treatment for patients and support to resist diseases.

Global Village, the premier culture and entertainment destination for families, announced the commencement of registration for commercial outlets for the 15th edition of the shopping and entertainment extravaganza that kicks off on 11 November 2010. Retailers, services providers and restaurateurs are invited to submit applications before August end. However, registration for kiosks will continue until 19 September.    

The upcoming season of the spectacular multicultural entertainment at the region’s leading destination for commerce and cuisine, is expected to attract a large number of tourists and residents throughout the 111 days of the event.

The Madrid Centro Financiero (MCF) and Casa Arabe, in association with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) are organising the DIFC - MCF Seminar 2010, an investment conference that will be held in Madrid on 24 September 2010. The full-day event is aimed at strengthening the UAE’s economic ties with Spain and Madrid, on the back of a bi-lateral MOU that will be signed between MCF and DIFC at the seminar.

Emirates Airline announced Hong Kong as the newest destination for its super-jumbo. The carrier has a total of 12 A380s in service with 78 on order and Hong Kong will become the Dubai-based global airline’s 11th A380 destination.   

Starting 1st October, Emirates’ A380 will operate daily from Dubai as EK384 via Bangkok with the return flight operating as EK385.



Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, Far East and Australasia, said: “We are very excited to announce Hong Kong as a new Emirates A380 destination.

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing’s (DTCM) - India Representative Office was adjudged the ‘International Tourism Organisation of the Year’ at the second Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) Travel Awards, at a ceremony held recently in Mumbai, India.

Carl Vaz, Director of DTCM’s India Representative Office received the award from Chhagan Bhujbal, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, in the presence of more than 500 travel and tourism officials.    



A unique feature of the TAAI Travel Awards 2010 was that travel agencies across India voted for the various categories. The feedback from travel agencies is vital in assessing the performance of industry players since the travel agents are usually the first point of contact for the customers and are responsible for arranging the hotels and travel itinerary for the tourists.

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) launched the 9th Ramadan Forum in Al Twar 2 opposite Dubai Airport Terminal 2, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation. The event is organised from 2-18 Ramadan including seven nights for foreign nationalities.    

Khalifa Al Falasi, Chairman of the Ramadan forum, said: “The team is working hard to gain the reputation it carried over the past years as well as the reputation of Dubai as a tourist destination in the region. We also held several meetings to follow up the preparations of the senior committee and sub-committees and ensure completion of the necessary equipments that will be associated with the events of the forum including the main lectures tent, ladies and children tents that are sponsored by the General Directorate for Residency and Foreigners Affairs.”

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), organisers of the 9th Ramadan Forum, which is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, launched the charity caravan programme featuring the distribution of multilingual publications, booklets and CDs about Islam and its rituals across Dubai, in cooperation with the authorities in the UAE.

Mohammed Al Hashemi, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the 9th Ramadan Forum said that the caravan will distribute 20,000 bags containing publications, booklets and CDs to various public and private organisations in Dubai, in addition to 30,000 booklets and 10,000 CDs in English, Tagalog and Urdu languages which will be distributed to non-Arabic speakers in the emirate.
